Huntingdon College did not just have its eye on one of Benjamin Russell’s defensive standouts; it had its eye on two. Seniors Alijah Johnson and Lajayvious Calhoun both received scholarship offers to play at the next level.

Kenneth Boone / TPI Benjamin Russell's Alijah Johnson (7) received another scholarship offer to play football at Huntingdon College. He leads the team with nine rushing touchdowns and six interceptions.

This year, Johnson has completed 4-of-10 pass attempts for three passing touchdowns, compiled 254 rushing yards and a team-high nine rushing touchdowns, and to cap it off with another 60 yards receiving for another touchdown. On just offense alone, Johnson has 13 total touchdowns and 432 all-purpose yards. However, his main position is safety, where Johnson ranks seventh on the team in total tackles with 53, including three for a loss. Johnson also has one sack, one forced fumble and a team-high six interceptions on defense.
