Alexander City Fire department gets high-tech help

In 21 years working as a firefighter in Alexander City Interim Fire Chief Reese McAlister has encountered about every problem imaginable, but this week he and the command staff, along with Misty Brown in the city’s IT Department, are making sure one of those issues is a thing of the past.

The department is setting up all of its personnel on an app designed especially for first responders called Active911. The service puts vital information needed on each and every call in the palm of their hands.
