It’s a good thing Gerry Purcell is fired up; he’s got a big job ahead of him.
Purcell recently accepted the executive director position at the Wetumpka Area Chamber of Commerce and this summer will launch the chamber’s business incubator facility on East Bridge Street. His goals include doubling the chamber’s social media coverage, offering business-coaching services to members, perhaps launching a healthcare fair to help people navigate recent changes to the system and making the most of recent StreetScape and MainStreet designations downtown. That’s a tall order for someone who three years ago had never heard of Wetumpka, Alabama.
