The Tallassee Tigers are on the road to the AHSAA flag football state championship, but first, they need to overcome a big hurdle. It’s the same one that felled them last season, Montgomery Catholic. In the inaugural season of Tallassee flag football the Tigers cruised their way into the quarterfinals, losing only one game the entire regular season to Catholic.

They faced the Knights for the second time in the quarterfinal round of the playoffs, keeping it close but ultimately losing 6-0 to end their season. Catholic went on to beat Moody 14-7 in Birmingham to claim the first flag football state championship in AHSAA history.
