Longtime rivals Wetumpka and Stanhope Elmore arguably felt the largest ripple effect from the new reclassification Wednesday morning.

The Alabama High School Athletic Association Central Board unanimously approved the 2016-17 and 2017-18 realignment, a reconfiguration that divided the Mustangs and the Indians, located 12 miles apart, into two separate regions.
