In 2016, in his first year as Reeltown football coach, Matt Johnson packed his duffle bag like he always had. His mindset is you can never be too prepared, so he packs extra clothes for warmth and a few extra layers in case it rains. But this time, even after confirming with an assistant coach, he decided to keep that duffle bag a little lighter.
“Before we leave, I pack a huge bag for every road game,” Johnson said. “When I was coaching baseball, it was the same thing. I mean, it looks like I'm going to stay somewhere for a week because everybody knows two things: I'm going to stay dry and I'm going to stay warm.”
