Girls Wrestler of the Year: BRHS’ Brooklyn Cottingham further etches her name into history

Brooklyn Cottingham is not the first girls wrestler to walk the halls of Benjamin Russell, and she certainly will not be the last. However, she has built an impressive resume that will be tough to catch up to.

After posting 40 wins this season, including her second consecutive trip to the AHSAA Class 6A-7A State Tournament — eventually walking away with a second-place finish in the 185-pound weight class — Cottingham is the first-ever Outlook Girls Wrestler of the Year.
