The Thomas C. Russell Field Airport will temporarily close beginning next month as the facility undergoes improvements. The airport will be closed Aug. 7 to Sept. 16.

Airport Manager Jackson Hatton said during that time, the runway lights will be replaced with LED lights. The airport must be closed while the construction is ongoing as it will occur in the Runway Safety Area.
