Some trees you see around town don’t just appear out of nowhere — someone has to put them there.

Since 1995, the Alexander City Tree Board has been placing trees throughout town to help improve the community, enhance the environment and encourage active community involvement. Tree board chairman Larry Bates spoke to the Alex City Kiwanis Club about efforts to educate others on the importance of trees and to plant more trees throughout the city.
