Community Action Committee awarded $1.2 million for utility bill help

Community Action Committee, Inc. of Chambers-Tallapoosa-Coosa (CACCTC) will receive $1.24 million to help low-income households with utility costs, part of a $47 million grant round awarded by Gov. Kay Ivey Friday.

CAC, which provides support to Chambers-, Tallapoosa- and Coosa-county families through direct assistance and referrals, was one of 18 local agencies to receive the funding made available by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services.
