Buyers snap up water access in lieu of waterfront

The Lake Martin real estate market has grown. The lake has not grown – it is still 880 miles of shoreline – but access to the lake has provided additional ownership opportunities. Because of the lake’s popularity, a large number of sales have been recorded for water-access properties in addition to traditional waterfront. This new demand has caused a number of builders and developers to reconsider neighborhood amenities, house sizes and land use.
