When Carrie Phillips and Jack Woodard began searching for a cabin on Lake Martin, they had two criteria – deep water year-round and a beach area for the children and grandchildren. With that in mind, they purchased a three-bedroom, two-and-a-half bath home on a point with 600 feet of shoreline for their weekend visits.

Three years later, the couple knew they had the right spot and began renovations. This time, their criteria were to maintain the cabin feel of the home and to add additional outdoor living areas, plus more sleeping space for family. And, since they wanted to live at the lake a majority of their time, they needed office space.
