A Few Tips after a Golf-less Vacation

I just returned from a vacation, which was immediately followed by a three-day golf instructional workout with a young man in St. Petersburg, Florida. Vacations are something I rarely have indulged myself in. As much as I love playing golf courses around the world, it’s still golf, and that puts me on the clock. So, this vacation was very unique and special to me.

My vacation was spent, golf-less, on a seven-day cruise. This was a New Orleans Blues cruise called, “The Big Easy Cruise.” A lifelong friend of mine, who owns a reservation software company and books hundreds of different of cruises throughout the year, invited me to join him. This was my first cruise, and it really was awesome. We sailed from Ft. Lauderdale to New Orleans; then, to Cozumel, Mexico; and then, back to Ft. Lauderdale. On the boat, there was music nearly all the waking hours. Little Feat played two shows (I have been a no-kidding fan since 1974), and in New Orleans, the Tedeschi-Trucks Band came aboard and played a two-hour show. No question about it, Derek Trucks is the best guitarist/slide guitarist around today. It was a fantastic getaway.
