Alexander City’s Anabelle Gordon will graduate with an associate degree at Central Alabama Community College before she graduates high school this spring, thanks to an innovative scholarship opportunity implemented during her freshman year at Benjamin Russell High School.

“The scholarship allowed me the opportunity of taking CACC classes every semester while I was in high school. I took two classes every semester and took two or three classes every summer,” Gordon said. “It seems like classes in both places could be complicated, but it really is the best of both worlds. It was very well organized, so we had plenty of time to take the classes we needed and still participate in games, pep rallies and all other high school activities.”
