It’s interesting how the human brain can select different experiences throughout life and retain them as if they were written in stone or in a painting. A moment, frozen in time and etched into memory, never to be forgotten. I am blessed to have had the opportunity to fish some of the most notorious fisheries in the country during some of the best times.

Many memories have been made in the process; some very good, like catching big fish in the tournament at the California Delta. Others, I’d like to forget, like driving home from Lake Champlain, New York, knowing that a fish care penalty cost me a check that I so desperately needed. I’ve never been one to kiss my fish, but I would have locked lips and administered mouth to mouth if I thought it would have made a difference.Â
