For many home gardeners, the excitement of watching fresh vegetables sprout or flowers bloom is reward enough for the hard work and planning that goes into tending a backyard garden. But in a matter of moments, that simple reward can turn into a frustrating defeat if the garden turns into a buffet for wildlife.

Locally, most common wildlife culprits include squirrels, birds, raccoons, rabbits and armadillos; however, the animal that poses the biggest threat to home gardens and landscapes – deer.
