Dishing Out Hope

Founder Teresa Stewart.

Driving by 427 E. Church Street in Alexander City on a Tuesday morning or Saturday afternoon, one might catch sight of the mountain of fresh produce, rows of packed grocery boxes and a bustling regional food distribution hub.

Helping lead the charge is a man who looks more like a seasoned biker than a traditional director of a Christian food pantry. Wearing distinctive earrings and flashing a warm smile, Blaine Stewart uses that approachable appearance to connect directly with the hundreds of local families coming to his tables for essential groceries.
