People claim kitchens sell houses. As a realtor, I do not disagree. As I sit here looking at my kitchen, I have to laugh because I’m not sure what some folks would think of it! My kitchen is very retro. We still have the original 1960s America’s Best oven that is white metal and, no surprise, it still works. It fits in with the original metal sink and cabinets. Over the years, it grew on John and me, and we even found a matching sink set on Facebook Marketplace for the guest quarters. At this point, it would be weird if anything was “too” new at the cabin.

No matter how new or old, big or small, the kitchen is home base at any lake house. It has been interesting to follow kitchen trends over the last 10 years. What was current in 2016 is now showing its age compared to the streamlined new kitchens of brand-new construction. Time does a number on everything.
