I just read the Summer 2015 Hunter Education Newsletter, which contained a breakdown of last year’s hunting accidents in Alabama. Out of 29 total hunting accidents, the majority – 15 of them – involved tree stands. Even though we were all taught how dangerous firearms can be if used carelessly, we just don’t think of tree stands as deadly.

As one hunter education instructor said, “We can teach kids to not shoot each other, but we can’t keep them from falling out of trees!”
