Lacey Howell completed a half marathon at Runningman Fest 2023.

Last month, I went camping by myself. While I wasn’t technically alone in a remote forest, I attended RunningmanFest in north Georgia and did have to pitch a tent. 

It was unlike any event I have ever attended. It was a running festival combined with a full-on wellness experience. Runners could choose between 5k, 10, half marathon (13.1 miles), full marathon (26.2 miles) or the 50-mile ultra runs. The race was held at an old horse track, and runners traveled the 1-mile loop. There were vendors, the world’s largest sauna, cold plunges, food trucks, great speakers and entertainment into the night.Â
