Summertime celebrations in America are special. Backyard cookouts, tables full of food, sparklers in little hands and the sound of fireworks in the distance all create the kind of memories families carry for years. Fourth of July has always been a celebration centered around friends, tradition and food, and this cheesecake becomes more than just dessert; it becomes the centerpiece of the holiday table.

Growing up, my family always planned a summer vacation around the Fourth of July, and those trips are some of my favorite childhood memories. Some years we camped at state parks, while other years we packed up and headed to the beach for the holiday week. I still remember the excitement of loading camping gear into the car, setting up tents and spending entire days outside without a care in the world. As kids, we never thought twice about sleeping on the ground or sweating in the Alabama heat. We were too busy enjoying every moment of summer, swimming all day, eating sticky popsicles and watching fireworks light up the sky.
