One of the youngest entrepreneurs in the area, 14-year-old Mimi Heffelfinger started her business last year at age 13. Shortly after she launched Mimi’s Baked Goods, her sister, Lacey Rae, 15, followed suit, making homemade goat’s milk soaps.
“Mimi was just baking all the time, and we had more than we could eat, so we found out about the Cottage Food certification,” the girls’ mother, Crystal Heffelfinger said. “And Lacey just took the wheel and went out on her own.”
