There is something so special about playoff football, and the Elmore County Panthers showed that on Friday night in the first round of the Class 5A playoffs.

Elmore County (8-3) did not go into one overtime against Demopolis (7-4); it went into two. And after a crucial Panther stop on the would-be game-winning two-point conversion, they walked away with a 21-20 victory to advance to the second round of the Class 5A playoffs.
