Community supports grieving family through vigil and donations

The loss of a child is a devastating event that comes with unexpected expenses surrounding funeral costs and absences from work.

Holtville High School Quarterback Club president Kevin Chavis said he and others want to support the family of a 14-year-old who died in a crash Thursday on Lightwood Road. Chavis said the Holtville High School Quarterback Club has helped establish an account at First Community Bank of Central Alabama in memory of the teenager to help the family with expenses during this time of grieving.
