Ana Sofia Meyer / TPI Tallassee guard Jaaliyah Williams picks up Wetumpka guard at halfcourt.
Ana Sofia Meyer
In their first game of the season, the Tallassee Tigers went out to play Wetumpka, a girls basketball team with nine games already under its belt. And the experience proved too much to handle as they suffered a big loss, 60-37.
Just like any team playing the first few games of their season, the Tigers are working on shaking off the offseason rust and figuring out what it will take for them to win games. Sophomore forward London O’Neal, however, didn’t look rusty by any stretch of the imagination. She took control of the paint against physical and experienced Wetumpka forwards, fighting for rebounds and getting open through contact in the paint.
