More and more, we are seeing what we like to call “social media journalists” pop up. These are often people who aren’t trained in the communications field, many times running some sort of Facebook group or page.
And what’s frustrating about these types of bloggers, or whatever you want to call them, isn’t competition for us “real journalists.” What’s most frustrating is they often don’t adhere to the standards and ethics of trained journalists, like we do here at Tallapoosa Publishers Inc.

a line extending from near West Point to near Oak Bowery to near
Eclectic. Movement was southeast at 40 mph.
HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 40 mph and pea size hail.
SOURCE...Radar indicated.
IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around
unsecured objects. Minor hail damage to vegetation is
possible.

Auburn, Opelika, Tuskegee, Valley, Lanett, Tallassee, Dadeville, Camp
Hill, Notasulga, Equality, Smiths, Stroud, Milstead, Lafayette,
