Out of the five major sports in the United States, soccer has consistently been the least popular for many years. That has slowly changed, and that change is becoming visible in the Alexander City community. 

A group of Benjamin Russell alums who have moved on to play college soccer returned in the summer to host a development camp for kids from ages eight to 15. For director Eddie Naranjo, the goal is to teach anyone interested in soccer the fundamentals of the game: dribbling, passing and getting a good first touch on the ball.
