In a special called meeting Friday afternoon, the Alexander City City Council declared the city in a state of emergency in preparation for Hurricane Isaias.

The state of emergency gives Alex City Mayor Mike Densmore the ability to hire contractors as may be needed from damage from the storm. The resolution ends at 5:30 p.m. Monday, Oct. 12.
