Early next year, U.S. Highway 280 in Alexander City will see another major construction area.

Several years in the making, Alabama Department of Transportation project manager Shannon Jones said the area between Alabama Highway 63 and the end of Dadeville Road will involve access management plus resurfacing.

Maps show the proposed construction along U.S. Highway 280 from Alabama Highway 63 to Dadeville Road. ALDOT will begin the project as early as spring 2026.
