Alexander City on pace to exceed revenue projection

City finance manager Sandy Stanbrough said the October 2018 to April 2019 sales tax collections are 0.6 percent higher than projected.

April’s sales tax collections in Alexander City were the third-highest on record and the city is entering a period of the fiscal year that is traditionally the best for bringing in revenue, officials said.

If the incoming money remains steady, that bodes well for finishing the fiscal year in September well above projections.
