Councilman Jimmy Keel honored with celebration of life

Jimmy Keel looks over documents at an Alexander City City Council meeting before taking office.

Jimmy Keel was a city councilman for the Alexander City City Council for the last three years, but for many years before, Keel was well-known for his farming.

That was one of the main focuses of his celebration of life Friday night at Flint Hill United Methodist Church. Pastor John Hill spoke of Keel, who died Monday at the age of 81. Hill remembered Keel for being the eighth of 10 children, who always protected his youngest sibling.
