County schools continue to recovery after Dadeville shooting

Hundreds gathered on Monday at Dadeville High School to celebrate and remember the life of Dadeville senior Phil Dowdell.

Superintendent Ray Porter never expected at 4 a.m. he would be in downtown Dadeville reconciling with a case of gun violence.

He said some things you can prepare for, but the night of April 15 was not one of them. With two Dadeville High School students later declared dead and multiple students still injured, Porter said those first few days were focused on students’ needs.
