What an honor it is for me to give this update on The Johnny Nolen home. We all know how much time and effort went into this project. Let me start by saying what a loss this community experienced with the passing of Johnny. That was not anticipated by the group that started this project, but let me share with you what was decided to do with the home. The team decided to set up a scholarship to honor Johnny. They decided since the home was built for Johnny, that his name should live on. The home will be rented out and all rental income will go towards his Scholarship. What a great way to honor one of our community’s legendary citizens. That speaks volumes for all the people that donated to the Johnny Nolan home. All their hard work and donations will help others go to college for a long time. We commend the people of Alexander City for all their support and we hope that you all can find comfort in knowing what this community did, and Johnny Nolen will impact kids for many decades to come. It is a testament of what Alex City is made of.
