Officers of the Alexander City Police Department and Tallapoosa County Sheriff’s Office are currently on the lookout for Benjamin Thomas, 40, of Alexander City. 

According to a release from the ACPD Facebook page, the ACPD and TCSO were involved in a vehicle pursuit with a blue Chevrolet Silverado at 8 a.m. Monday morning. The vehicle was reported stolen out of New Site. Thomas was alleged to be driving the vehicle, which he abandoned and fled on foot. The Alabama Law Enforcement Agency was notified and brought its helicopter to assist with searching the area as well as a K-9 team to assist with tracking the subject, the release stated.
