A long-awaited road project on Highway 63 in Alexander City will begin April 28, and a major road closure on the highway will begin May 5.
According to a press release from the Alabama Department of Transportation, the project will include replacing the bridge over Sugar Creek and adjusting the grade by 18 feet along Highway 63 from milepost 27.925 to milepost 28.334, which is at the intersection of Highway 280.

cover above ground pipes to protect them from freezing.
