The thermometer is inching closer to 100 degrees in the Lake Martin area and record-breaking temperatures have been set nationwide in July.
The heat has some locals pondering the polarizing question of global warming, whether the unusually hot summer has a scientific explanation or if it is just part of a natural cycle.
