Lindsey Road overtopping last year in Alexander City. With flooding being an issue for Lindsey Road the county received an ADEM grant to replace the culvert.
With Lindsey Road in Alexander City overtopping at least once a year, the road is now set to get a new culvert.
The Tallapoosa County Commission had the opportunity to apply for an Alabama Department of Environmental Management grant due to the road having flooding issues and by extension safety issues. The culvert is currently an 8-foot corrugated metal pipe, and it will be replaced with a concrete bridge culvert.
