Phillips’ time ran out before he fulfilled his goals

With only a year on the Alexander City Council, District 6 councilor Brett Phillips said he didn’t have enough time to see his goals fulfilled.

Phillips was appointed to replace Jimmy Keel as District 6 councilor a little over a year ago and participated in his first election in August. He faced Tony Harris and Mike Lucas initially, didn’t receive enough votes to win outright then faced Lucas in the September runoff election. Lucas carried District 6 with only 47 more votes than Phillips.
