Samuel Higgs / TPI Benjamin Russell's Ami Edwards dribbles into the paint while guarded by Elmore County's Cherish Foye. Edwards finished with 16 points after missing a week of action due to an injury.
There are many things that are out of the control of the Benjamin Russell girls basketball team. For most of the season, the roster has not been at full strength, with girls overcoming injuries. However, against Elmore County on Monday, it was the JV team that provided much-needed depth, playing elsewhere.
Meaning the Wildcats had seven, and played all seven against the Panthers. But even that was too much for Elmore County to combat against, with Benjamin Russell walking away with a 45-28 victory.
