Quarterback Alijah Johnson has patiently waited for his chance to line up as Benjamin Russell’s signal caller. Against Chilton County his patience paid off, the first-year starter played his best game of the season propelling Benjamin Russell to its second win of the season. 

In the 6A Region Region 3 clash, Johnson got his day started quickly, which was not originally the game plan. Heading into the matchup, the Wildcats wanted to prioritize the rushing attack with running back T.J. Wilson, who had back-to-back 100-yard games. However, Johnson noticed the Tigers had no way of defending them through the air.
