Benjamin Russell’s defensive intensity secures area win

Samuel Higgs / TPI Benjamin Russell's Alijah Johnson shot 11 for 13 on free-throw attempts.

There is no better way to open area play than by how well the defense performs, and Benjamin Russell boys basketball can attest to that.

In the area opener, Benjamin Russell snatched a victory over Calera, 62-54, with dominance on the defensive side of the ball. What played to the team's benefit were the 13 total turnovers it forced on Calera, almost all of which resulted in points for Benjamin Russell.
