Southern Prep leans on experienced line to power 2025 campaign

Samuel Higgs / TPI Southern Prep football coach Roland Bell previews the upcoming football season at the Fox Sports Media Day in Opelika.

Southern Preparatory Academy football coach Roland Bell, along with his three starting linemen Brandon Bell, Layton Mask and Russell Montgomery, made the trek from Camp Hill to Opelika last Wednesday. The group participated in the Fox Sports High School Media Day at First Baptist Church to preview the upcoming season.

Like most of the AISA 8-man football teams, the Rangers have their fair share of adversity to overcome. They are coming off a 7-7 season, falling to Evangel Christian Academy in the playoffs. However, the group lost most of its offensive and defensive production from last year’s group and had 12 student-athletes return from spring practices. But even with the odds stacked against them, Bell is confident they can win with the numbers they have.
