The Benjamin Russell softball team is growing accustomed to the busy weekend slate at this point in the season, having now participated in its third so far. This time, it was the Saint James Varsity Tournament held by the Trojan.
Benjamin Russell (2-12) opened with Central-Phenix, falling 15-3 through five innings. The Wildcats compiled four hits coming from Kyleigh Leonard, Journey Brewer, Zoya Menniefield and Kenzie Henderson. Leonard, Brewer and Aubrey Chapman each scored a run on the day while Menniefield added two RBIs.
