Evidence of a still lagging economy is present along the Lake Martin area as foreclosure rates this year are on track to exceed last years rate.

In 2008 Tallapoosa County saw foreclosures on 108 pieces of property, while the number of foreclosures already sits at 31 since the start of this year.
