Come next season, high school basketball in Alabama will have a new look: A quicker pace, more possessions and possibly more turnovers. Last Wednesday the AHSAA announced it would implement a 35-second shot clock for boys and girls basketball teams starting in the 2026-27 season.

With area play on the horizon, the Elmore County baseball team  refused to lose any momentum to the break as they went out to Oxford to try their luck in a spring break experience tournament. ECHS played four games in two days, winning 3-of-4. 

The Elmore County baseball team ran the gauntlet last week, with three games against high level opponents. On Thursday, the Panthers faced the Holtville Bulldogs for a rivalry game, winning 7-2 after seven innings of stiff competition.Â
