Elmore County traveled to Millbrook to play the Stanhope Elmore Mustangs in a game that saw the Mustangs win by 20 for a final score of 57-37.Â
Stanhope Elmore’s girls basketball team hosted a hampered Elmore County squad in Millbrook which ended, 87-32, in favor of Stanhope Elmore.Â
It tends to be hard to win basketball games when you beat yourself. That’s what happened to the Elmore County Panthers girls basketball team on Thursday night at Wetumpka. It was the Panthers’ second meeting with the Indians and the second time they came out with a loss.Â
Every team needs an identity, a formula it determines will help it win games, or at least come close. Nearing the midpoint in the boys basketball season, the Elmore County Panthers have yet to answer that question for themselves.Â
Confidence is a huge part of attaining any goal, no matter how lofty. For the Wetumpka Indians girls basketball team, the goal is a state title run and to bring home a state championship for the first time in program history.Â
The Elmore County Panthers are looking to go back-to-back this season on the wrestling mats. They have a full slate of wrestlers returning this season and hoping to reclaim their titles.Â
Sometimes a football game is a football game; other times it’s a perfect metaphor for life’s trials and tribulations.Â
After an electric double-overtime win against Demopolis last week, the Elmore County Panthers are getting their wish of hosting a playoff game at Burt-Haynie Field this week.Â
Connor Pike has come up big for the Panthers on the gridiron all season. Last Friday night, he delivered yet another hugely impactful performance against Demopolis, putting Elmore County just over the edge in a double-overtime victory.Â
