Ana Sofia Meyer / TPI Elmore County hitter Charley Labriola (10) gets a hit on the ball for a kill in their three-set area tournament win against Beauregard.

The Elmore County Panthers came into the volleyball season with one main goal: Reclaim their area title for the sixteenth year in a row under coach Kim Moncrief. On Thursday night, they accomplished that goal, beating area rivals the Beauregard Hornets in three-straight sets.

“From the beginning of the summer, one of our goals was to continue the streak,” Moncrief said. “They really wanted it badly, to not be the team that drops that, but beyond that, they also know it helps them with regional playoffs, to be going in as the one-seed instead of the two-seed.”
