Sometimes a football game is a football game; other times it’s a perfect metaphor for life’s trials and tribulations. 

“Sometimes life’s gonna hit you in the face,” Elmore County coach Kyle Caldwell said after the Panther’s 42-14 loss to Williamson on Friday night. “And you just gotta take it head on. You know, that’s what high school football is all about, trying to teach these guys no matter what you got to keep going.”

Elmore County lost to No. 1-ranked Williamson 42-14. The Panthers fought hard the whole game, showing heart and grit even as the Lions pulled away. It was the first playoff game and second-round appearance for Elmore County since 2011.
