CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Car owner Chip Ganassi, who has an unexpected hole to fill on his NASCAR team, said Tuesday that IRL driver Dan Wheldon is not a candidate to replace Casey Mears.

“There is no story here,” Ganassi said. “Dan has a commitment to Target right now to drive an Indy car and that’s where he’ll stay.”
