Cliff Williams / TPI One puppy gave a new dog parent a few kisses during the adoption process.

Denice Pittman and her sister Cherryl Knighten were in dog heaven Saturday as their business Tiers of Sweetness hosted an adoption event for the Humane Society of Elmore County Animal Shelter.

But they have always been in dog heaven. The business started in 2008 as Pittman was making cakes for dogs while working full-time as a hairdresser.
